The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights will travel to Ohio tomorrow to take on the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL in a scrimmage at 4:00 PM EDT. The game will take place at the Deep Freeze Arena in Boardman, Ohio.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to play against some of the top talent in junior hockey,” said Knights head coach Tom Kowal. “It’s a chance for our players and staff to evaluate how we fare against a tier-I team and it gives us time to build chemistry on our first real road trip with this group.”
The Knights have had many alumni advance to the USHL. Among the most recent was top defenseman from last season, Thomas Farrell, who’s a current member of the Phantoms. Former Knights defenseman Marcus Joseph, a current player for NCAA DI Sacred Heart University, played for the Phantoms in 2016-17.
The Knights will wrap up the preseason in Ohio before heading back to open the regular season at home next Friday. Stay tuned to www.wbsknights.com and Knights social media for all news and updates!
