The Knights had two games on the docket against the Central Division’s New York Applecore. They defeated the Applecore 6-4 in the first game, but lost the second game 6-2. The Applecore are currently in fifth place in the division.
The Knights scored four straight goals to start the first game against the Applecore. Geno DeAngelo, Tanner Bennett, Lukas Olehn, and David MacGregor scored the first four goals. The two teams went back and forth after that with Dan Perez adding a goal to make the score 5-2 at the end of the second period. Defenseman Cole Karklins scored a goal in the third period, while the Applecore scored twice. The score ended in a 6-4 victory for the Knights.
The second game between the two teams was a much different affair. After starting the previous game by scoring four straight goals, the Knights were down 3-1 at the end of the first period. Forward Blake Brazil had the lone goal with the assists coming from Steven Orizotti and John Regnart. The Applecore scored the next three goals, while forward Nick Branchina capped the scoring in the third period. The final was a 6-2 loss for the Knights. Goaltender Tyler Huberty stopped 17 of 22 shots.
