The Knights will have a new, yet familiar face on board on their way to an away-away series with Johnstown this weekend. Josh Kim will travel with the team as an affiliate player. Kim is the first player from the NA3AHL to earn such distinction among several other impressive piers. Kim is currently second on the NA3AHL Knights with 42 goals, 36 assists and 78 points in 22 games played. That total places him 4th amongst all tier-III junior hockey players.
The NA3AHL Knights head coach Josh Fusco is being recognized for his team’s success as well. Fusco will serve as a coach for the NA3AHL’s first all-star game. The Knights are currently second in the NA3AHL with a record of 18-4. They rank 1st in goals scored with 170 (7.73 per game) in not only the NA3AHL but the entirety of tier-III. Within the NA3AHL, the team ranks 2nd in goals allowed in the league with 67 (3.05 allowed per game).
In addition to Josh Kim, the team has two other skaters ranking in the top 20 of tier-III scoring. Jake Fuss ranks one spot higher than Kim on the leader board with 42-48-90 in 21 games played. Hendrick Simard comes in at 19th with a total of 43 points with 21 goals and 22 helpers. Safe to say that coach Fusco can expect to be joined by a several of his own at this year’s all-star game!
At the NAHL level, Grant Valentine was awarded Eastern Division Star of the Week for his 2-0 weekend in which he recorded a shut out, stopped a combined 50/52 shots (.962%) and posted a GAA of 1.00.
