KNIGHTS GO 1-1 ON THE WEEKEND AGAINST ASTON REBELS

Aston 6 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3 – The Rebels got a three-point night from Evgeny Yakovlev as they doubled up the Knights on Friday, 6-3. Dean Balsamo got the scoring started for Aston in the 1st period. Yakovlev and Andrew Zerban added 2nd period goals and then the Rebels scored three times in the 3rd period, which included another goal from Yakovlev and others from Chris Deprez and Ryan Solomon. The Knight got a goal in each period from Blake Busch in the 1st period and two from Paul Maust in the 2nd and 3rdperiods. Darion Hanson made 24 saves in the win. Boxscore

Aston 0 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 – The Knights got 31 saves from Grant Valentine, who posted his first career NAHL shutout as they earned a weekend split with the Rebels thanks to a 4-0 win on Saturday. The Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 1st period shorthanded goal from Carson Knop, which would stand as the game-winner. Blake Busch added two goals in the 2nd period 10 minutes apart. Knop scored his 2nd goal of the game late in the 3rd period and it was also his second shorthanded goal of the game. Trevor Micucci took the loss in goal for the Rebels, making 14 saves. Boxscore
