Knights Head to Hartford

Pittston, PA -

The Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Knights AJHL and MET teams will travel to Hartford, CT this weekend to participate in the Third Annual Wolf Pack Labor Day Weekend Showcase. The Knights opened training camp July 15th and have been working diligently to understand the new systems and playbook under the reigns of Coach Justin Lyle.

“Everyday we get better and better,” stated Head Coach Justin Lyle. “The boys have really focused these past three weeks and they are up for the challenge in Hartford this weekend.”

Each team will play three games this weeekend, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. The Knights will be facing off against Hartford, Springfield and Apple Core.

“Hartford does a great job attracting college scouts to their showcases,” said GM Paul Maciejewski. “This will be a great test for the players not only to get a couple of games under their belts before the regular season, but to showcase their skills to colleges early in the season.

Both teams then open the regular season at home on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at the Revolution Ice Centre against the Washington Junior Nationals. Puck drops at 4:00pm for the MET game and 7:35pm for the AJHL game.
